We welcome individuals who have an interest in learning about their faith and the Christian Tradition. Education happens in a variety of settings. We worship on Sunday morning is at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. We offer morning and evening Bible Study opportunities on weekdays and also have a variety of resources for independent study. Morning Bible StudyMeets every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. On the first Thursday of the month we meet at Seabury in the Chapel. We meet in the Living room at church on the remaining Thursdays. Our focus is on the scripture for the coming Sunday, but you never know where the Spirit will lead us in our conversation! By coming to Bible Study individuals are learning and preparing themselves for worship the coming Sunday. The joy and fun of the Lectionary Bible Study is the interaction between the members and the minister. Often the Bible Study discussion shapes the final direction and content of the minister’s sermon. New participants are welcome to the Bible Study, church members and non-members alike. Call the church office to confirm the meeting time. Evening Bible StudyOur NEW study group is The Mustard Seeds. “He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” Matt 13:31 Meets on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7:00pm in the living room. We are currently studying Matthew. As we explore our faith, we will look for other learning opportunities as well. This will be in the nature of Bible 101, as many people have requested a “basics” course about the Bible. Please come to one or both of these study groups. All are welcome & there is no previous knowledge or study required! Additional ResourcesThe church also provides two devotional magazines for personal use. The table outside of the church office has the “Upper Room” and “Alive Now”. Anyone is welcome to take a copy. Our Church Library also has a variety of books and devotional material for Christian education. Occasionally the church also holds short-term study groups on various topics. Ideas for Biblical and Topical Studies are always welcomed. |
